BIOGRAFÍA DE ALPHEUS

Descendiente de padres Jamaicanos pero nacido en Londres, Alpheus desarrolló su pasión por cantar tras ver por primera vez a Sam Cooke actuando en televisión. Entonces él mismo empezaba a actuar junto a “sound systems” locales. Su amor por el reggae creció al escuchar en su juventud a cantantes como Don Carlos, Dennis Brown, Frankie Paul, Michael Gordon, Keith Douglas, Thriller U y muchos más grandes artistas.

Alpheus conoció a Tony Brevett del famoso grupo vocal de “rocksteady” jamaicano “The Melodians” cuando estaba viviendo en Florida, EEUU. Tony llevó a Alpheus ante el legendario Clement Dodd y su gran sello/estudio “Studio One”, donde Alpheus grabó su álbum debut “Quality Time” en 1998, utilizando autenticas joyas del “Motown” jamaicano como bases o “riddims” para su trabajo.

Hace unos años Alpheus firmó su potente segundo trabajo discográfico llamado “Everything for a Reason”, junto al sello francés “Special Delivery” y en torno a un “reggae” de producción más actual.

Ahora Alpheus se embarca en este nuevo trabajo que verá la luz el 18 de Enero de 2011 llamado “From Creation” del sello “A-Lone Productions” y genialmente producido por el brillante músico y productor cántabro Roberto Sánchez (Lone Ark). Este contundente e impresionante álbum contiene composiciones propias y ritmos clásicos de “Phill Pratt”, “Studio One” y “Treasure Isle” auténticamente re-grabados por Lone Ark y perfectamente conducidas por la tremenda voz de Alpheus.

ALPHEUS BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised by Jamaican parents in London, England, Alpheus developed a passion for singing after seeing Sam Cooke perform on television and performing on local sound systems in London as a youth. His love for reggae developed as he was exposed to singers like Don Carlos, Dennis Brown, Frankie Paul, Michael Gordon, Keith Douglas, Thriller U and many more great artists.

Alpheus met Tony Brevett of the famed vocal rocksteady group 'The Melodians' whilst he was living in the USA in Florida. Mr.Brevett took Alpheus to the legendary Clement Dodd and his great STUDIO ONE Label where he recorded his debut album 'Quality Time ‘in 1998 On some of those classic studio one rhythms.

He went on to sing a second very good more contemporary reggae album -‘Everything for a reason’, a few years ago.with 'Special delivery label France.

NOW Alpheus embarks with the release of his NEW album on January 18th 2011 entitled ‘From Creation’ on A-LONE Label (lone ark) Prod.
